By Julian Vaughan, Chair North East Bedfordshire Labour Party Like many of you, I was dismayed at the government’s decision not to back Labour’s proposal to extend the provision of free school meals during school holidays until Easter 2021. There are over 7,000 pupils across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough who are currently in receipt of free school meals, who risk going hungry over the Xmas and half term holidays. I think it is disgraceful that MPs voted against providing food for our most vulnerable children, while enjoying cheap food and drink in the bars and restaurants of Parliament. How you can help
